2026 - 2027 Board Members

President
Chaumet Meeks
I have been a part of the Belville PTO since Fall of 2021, and absolutely love it! Getting to serve on the board that supports the staff and students is so fulfilling, and the best way to be involved in my children's school. I'm so thankful to have the opportunity.

I have a 3rd and 7th grader this year, and have been married to my husband for 15 years. When I'm not volunteering with the PTO, you can find me spending time with my husband and kids, crafting, traveling or cruising, enjoying Disney related things, or getting coffee with a friend. I also love being a substitute teacher at Belville and supporting pregnant mamas as a birth doula.

Vice President
Elise Barrett
I used to be a teacher in Brunswick County Schools, so I know firsthand what a special place Belville Elementary is! I joined the PTO because I love giving back and helping create the fun memories and experiences that make school so special for students, staff, and families. I love bringing people together and finding creative ways to make our school community even stronger. Our family is so excited to be part of this amazing Shark community, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to serve.

I'm a stay-at-home mom who owns an event planning business, and my husband is a firefighter with the Town of Leland. We have three wonderful kids who keep us busy with sports, activities, and adventures. When I'm not working or volunteering, you'll usually find me cheering them on, couponing and hunting for great clearance deals, or dreaming up fun ways to make childhood a little more magical.

Three years ago, my family made the move to North Carolina after spending 16 years visiting here. I have two boys in 1st and 9th grade. I joined the PTO because I know what it's like to want to be involved, but feel like there just aren't enough hours in the day. Before becoming a stay-at-home mom, I worked a demanding corporate job and often had to miss school events. That's why I want every parent and guardian to know that volunteering doesn't have to be a huge commitment. Even 20–30 minutes can make a big impact.

When I'm not volunteering, you'll usually find my family living at Little League baseball or flag football fields. I love reading, listening to music, organizing just about anything that needs a place, and traveling. I have a degree in Writing & Literature with a focus in Music Journalism. I have been fortunate to travel to Ireland, Italy, Germany, Israel, the Caribbean, and many other amazing places.

I'm a stay at home mom with twin 1st graders and
an oldest who is in the army. I love being involved with all the fun things going on at BES; appreciating the wonderful school family we get
to be a part of.

I am not just a mom, I am also a wife, business owner and student. For the next part of my educational journey, I have enrolled at UNCW for the fall. I currently hold an accounting degree, but my love for archives, digitalization and history, I will be majoring in Interdisciplinary Studies with a minor in Archival Science. I am also passionate about volunteering for the environment, first responders and military. Our family loves to cook together and travel/explore nature.

Community Outreach
Summer Idec Wood
This is my first year on the PTO board, and I joined to give perspective from a neurodivergent parent. I want to help our school community be as inclusive and supportive as possible.

I have a child who will be in the 1st grade this year and love spending time with my family and painting.

Staff Liaison
Molly Stallard
My husband and I grew up in Wilmington and now have 3 kiddos. Two are students at Belville and one is in LMS. I wear many hats at our school, but the favorite part of my job as the front desk secretary is seeing the sweet faces everyday, and help be a reason they smile and enjoy school.

Some fun facts you might not have known about me is my favorite color is purple, I have two golden retrievers, can live at a beach/pool, and my favorite food is dessert! I have quite the sweet tooth.
